A smaller, regular group of verbs ends in -re: vendre (to sell), attendre (to wait), répondre (to answer). Drop -re and add -s, -s, nothing at all, -ons, -ez, -ent: je vends, tu vends, il/elle vend, nous vendons, vous vendez, ils/elles vendent.
The il/elle form has no ending at all, which is unusual among the three regular groups — il vend (he sells) is written exactly like the stem, with a silent final d. This makes the singular forms of -re verbs sound identical to each other in speech, just like -er verbs.
