Pouvoir (can/to be able to), vouloir (to want), and devoir (must/to have to) are irregular modal verbs, each normally followed directly by an infinitive with no preposition: je peux partir (I can leave), elle veut manger (she wants to eat), nous devons travailler (we have to work).
Pouvoir: je peux, tu peux, il peut, nous pouvons, vous pouvez, ils peuvent. Vouloir: je veux, tu veux, il veut, nous voulons, vous voulez, ils veulent. Devoir: je dois, tu dois, il doit, nous devons, vous devez, ils doivent. Je voudrais (a conditional form of vouloir) is the standard polite way to ask for something, softer than je veux.
