autopropagarse

A technical term for something that spreads or reproduces on its own without external help — most commonly used for computer worms and viruses, and in biology for organisms or cells that reproduce without external agents.

A technical register word — not used for ordinary human ideas or rumors spreading, where difundirse or propagarse (without auto-) is the natural, everyday choice.
