Used for people, groups, or systems that organize themselves without external direction — common in contexts from grassroots activism to biology and complexity theory (self-organizing systems).

• Los vecinos se autoorganizaron para limpiar el parque. — The neighbors organized themselves to clean up the park.
• En biología, muchos sistemas se autoorganizan sin un control central. — In biology, many systems self-organize without central control.
• El equipo decidió autoorganizarse sin un jefe fijo. — The team decided to self-organize without a fixed boss.

Note the double o (auto + organizarse) — a common spelling slip is dropping one, writing autorganizarse instead.

Often confused with organizar.
