Used of residents leaving a danger zone on their own initiative, before or without an official evacuation order — common in disaster and emergency reporting.

Distinct from ser evacuado (being evacuated by authorities) — autoevacuarse specifically means leaving under one's own decision and means, without waiting for official help.
