to get by, manage
A common reflexive idiom meaning to manage, fend for oneself, or find a way to get something done through resourcefulness — se las agenció para terminar a tiempo. Interchangeable in most contexts with the equally common arreglárselas; both always carry the fixed las.
Dropping the fixed las — the idiom only exists as agenciárselas with that pronoun; *agenciarse alone doesn't carry the same 'get by through resourcefulness' meaning.
Often confused with arreglárselas.
