French and Indian War; the North American theatre of the Seven Years' War between France, the British Empire and their respective Indigenous/Native American allies, which occured between 1755 and 1763, and led to the conquest of New France and its cession to Britain and Spain.

Literally, “War of the Conquest”, named for the conquest of New France of 1759-1760, which led to its cession to the British Empire under the 1763 Treaty of Paris that ended the Seven Years' War.
